In the Beginning

In the beginning... we meet young Jules Verne, a poor Paris student whose dreams of becoming a great writer are fueled by his futuristic visions. The aspiring writer is kidnapped by a criminal organization known as the League of Darkness, whose leader - Count Gregory - wishes to use his visionary gift to take control of the world.

His plight will entangle Rebecca Fogg, the first female agent for the British Secret Service, on assignment for her government.

Her cousin is Phileas Fogg, a former agent, who left the Secret Service following the death of his brother and what he considers a betrayal by his father - the head of the Secret Service. Phileas blames his father and himself for his brother's death and begins a guilt-ridden downward spiral of injurious behavior.

However, his self-destructive plans go awry. While trying to lose his estate in a card game, he manages instead to acquire possession of something that will change the course of his life.

Thus begins the adventures of our unlikely group of heroes.
